I always return to my go-to place in Kanazawa. The staff kindly assisted me with late check-out on my first stay. The place suits me perfectly with Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and a cozy bar/lounge area. Already planning to come back for Christmas!

Spent the evening at Kanazawa Music Bar, sipping cocktails and grooving to their amazing vinyl collection. Loved the vibrant vermilion shrine with its hidden secrets. And the "mellow yellow" drink made with lemons and gin was psychedelic!
Oh, how I loathe it when bars have an electric atmosphere and professional music selectors that keep me entertained all night. So annoying.

The location on a lively shopping street meant we were surrounded by plenty of dining options, and we even discovered an amazing ice cream place just a short stroll away. The dorm room we booked had two comfortable beds opposite each other, which was ideal for us as a family of four. The showers were clean, and the highlight for us was definitely the washer and dryer facilities. Having clean clothes quickly and hassle-free was a game-changer! The common area was small, but we spent most of our time in the room. The free water cooler and heated toilet seat were pleasant surprises that added to our overall comfort.
For families with children, my children wanted to have a dedicated place to relax within the hostel.

The staff at the hotel down the street were incredibly helpful and friendly, catering to our needs with a smile. The clean facilities, good showers, and comfortable bunk beds with curtains, reading lights, and lockers for our belongings made for a great stay.
We felt spoiled by the superb location, friendly staff, and well-maintained facilities. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay.

I absolutely loved the decoration at Kaname Hostel. It was so charming and beautifully done, with traditional Japanese elements mixed with modern touches. The hotel's general areas were very welcoming and comfortable, making it a great place for senior people like me to relax and unwind. The accessibility for senior people was also impressive, with well-lit pathways, handrails in the bathrooms, and spacious elevators that made it easy to navigate around the hotel.
The only thing I would ask for a better vacation for senior people is if the children working there could provide a little more assistance in carrying luggage or offering a helping hand. Just a small gesture like that would make the experience even more enjoyable for us seniors.

The hotel's decoration is tasteful and soothing, with beautiful Japanese motifs that create a serene atmosphere. The general areas are well-maintained and easily accessible for senior people. The staff, despite being younger, were very kind and helpful, always ready to assist me with any questions or concerns I had during my stay.
I wish there were more activities catered specifically to senior guests.

The location of this hostel is excellent, as it is close to major sightseeing spots and convenient stores. They provide small lockers for valuables and offer luggage storage. the beds are soft and the dorms are clean, with curtains for privacy.
The doors in the rooms can make a loud noise when they shut, which may disturb light sleepers.

We stayed at a hostel in a great location in Katamachi. the hostel is conveniently located on one floor and features small lockers for valuables. It's close to the castle grounds and the art museum, and there's even a Lawson's convenience store nearby. the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the staff were very helpful. Laundry was affordable, costing only 50 yen. it was one of the nicest hostels we've stayed at in Japan. Cons: Everything was fantastic! 😊.

The facilities at the hostel were excellent. They provided towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and even a hairdryer. the bed was very comfortable and I loved the privacy curtains and extra space for luggage. the hostel was also in a good location, close to a JR bus stop and surrounded by restaurants and shops. It was convenient to explore the area and find places to eat. the hostel had a laundry room with a washer and dryer, which was a huge plus for me.
The limited common area/living space. There was only one couch and coffee table, which made it a bit difficult to socialize with other guests.
